Hocuwa operates a digital marketplace that allows registered users to buy, sell, negotiate, and advertise livestock and agricultural products. The platform connects buyers and sellers but does not own the animals, products, machinery, or inputs listed by users.

By creating an account, posting a listing, contacting a seller, making an offer, placing a bid, or completing a transaction, users agree to use the service honestly, lawfully, and in line with marketplace rules.

Users must provide accurate account information, keep passwords secure, and maintain current contact details. Every account can both buy and sell - registering as a Private or Business account only changes the label shown on your profile, not what you're able to do. Sellers are responsible for truthful listing descriptions, accurate pricing, and timely responses to buyer enquiries.

Users may be asked to upload identity documents for verification. Submitting false documents or impersonating another person may result in account suspension.

Listings should include accurate species, breed, age, health, vaccination, location, media, and pricing details where relevant. Admins may reject, edit, suspend, or remove listings that are misleading, unsafe, duplicated, or prohibited.

Open offers, counter-offers, fixed-price purchases, and timed auctions create platform records. Once an offer is accepted or an auction is won, the buyer is expected to complete payment within the defined payment window.

Hocuwa will deduct a platform commission from completed transactions. The commission has three parts: a Final Value Fee (a percentage of the sale price), a fixed Transaction Fee, and a Marketplace Service Fee (a further percentage of the sale price). Rates depend on the seller's membership plan and are shown in full, itemised, before checkout. Payment methods, seller payout rules, and refund handling are managed through the platform settings and admin workflows.

If a dispute occurs, admins may review listing data, transaction records, messages, offers, bids, and user history before taking action.

Hocuwa currently permits transactions only between a buyer and seller domiciled in the same country - for example United Kingdom to United Kingdom, United States to United States, Germany to Germany, Nigeria to Nigeria, or Kenya to Kenya. Cross-border transactions are not permitted at this time; this capability will be enabled in a future upgrade.
